Henry Hene
Henry Hene or Henn ( died 1708 ) was an English-born judge who had a distinguished career in Ireland, and held the office of Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer. == Background and early career == He was the eldest son of Hugh Henn, who was a page of the bedchamber to James I and Charles I〔''House of Lords Journal'' 16 May 1643〕 and was appointed joint Keeper, with his brother, of the Queen's Garden, Greenwich in 1639.〔Ball, F. Elrington ''The Judges in Ireland 1221-1921'' John Murray London 1926 Vol.1 p.354〕 Henry entered the Inner Temple in 1645 and was called to the Bar in 1653. Although he became a Bencher of the Inner Temple, his practice at the English Bar was not successful and he moved in 1669 to Ireland, where he had relatives.〔Ball pp.287-288〕 He was admitted to the King's Inns and his Irish practice prospered: he was appointed Second Serjeant in 1670 and a Commissioner of Appeals in Revenue in 1671.〔Kenny, Colum ''The King's Inns and the Kingdom of Ireland'' Irish Academic Press Dublin p.291〕
